Politico has posted the 12-count indictment handed up towards Paul Manafort and Richard Gates on Friday by the Washington grand jury listening to proof introduced earlier than it by Robert Mueller’s crew of all-star prosecutors. The fees all relate or derive from Manafort’s enterprise actions that predate Manafort’s involvement with the Trump marketing campaign (though varied associated deceptions are alleged up to now). I don’t imagine that Gates ever had any involvement with the Trump marketing campaign to start with.
The fees don’t have anything to do with collusion. As Andrew McCarthy anticipated this previous August, they’re evidently supposed to place the squeeze on Manafort to offer proof towards principals within the Trump marketing campaign.
